Alice Glover was born about 1455, probably in Benenden, Kent, England. She was the daughter of John Glover. Her mother is unknown at this time. From the wills of her father and brother, Thomas, we learn that, about 1475, she married John Bigge of Benenden. They were wed in St. George’s Church there. They had at least two sons and John died very young, in about 1480, probably at about age 30. Their only son that survived to be an adult was Richard, because he is the only grandson named in his grandfather Glover’s will of 1489. Since Alice was not named in her father’s will, she too probably died before 1489. There is no reason to believe that she died anywhere but Benenden, or that she was buried anywhere else but the churchyard of St. George’s Church there.
