NEW BERLIN — D. Nadine Washburn, 89, of New Berlin, joined her husband and other loved ones in glory land on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, after her passing at Manor Care, Sunbury.

She was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Flemington, a daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Felding) Ludlow. On Sept. 14, 1942, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., she married John J. Washburn who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2005.

She assisted her husband in his ministerial appointments with the former E.U.B., later United Methodist Church. Nadine enjoyed crocheting doilies of all styles and sizes, but especially the ones with the angel borders. She embroidered pillow cases and then embellished them with crocheted butterflies. She had lived in New Berlin with her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Ronald Boyer and great-granddaughters, Alana and Makena Boyer, of 707 Vista Heights Drive, before entering Manor Care on Nov. 2.

Surviving in addition to her daughter and son-in-law, are two sons and daughters-in-law, John D. and Karin Washburn, of Plano, Texas, and their children, Sabine Rowell, John D. Jr., and Daryl Washburn, all of Texas, and James G. and Dorothy Washburn, and daughters, Anissa, of Philipsburg, and Jamie Waite, of Rohersburg; and grandson, Brett Boyer and his fiance, Amanda Cole, of Selinsgrove; many great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Ludlow, of Coplay; one brother-in-law, Frank Klotz, of Spring Hill, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two children, Judith K. and Joseph A. Washburn; and four sisters and one brother.

Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church, 428 Mill St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 2 with the Rev. Ryan Gephart, officiating.

Burial will held on Wednesday in Mount Bethel Church Cemetery, Porter Township, Clinton County.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to “Imagine Campaign”, Christ United Methodist Church, 428 Mill St., Selinsgrove, PA 17870, or to a mission of the donors choice.
