Jerry Maurice Carter, 69, died May 31, 2003 in Salt Lake City after a long battle with Parkinsons. Jerry was the oldest son of Darrall and Fern Hansen Carter. He was born October 6, 1933 in Lehi, Utah. He married Elaine Roundy Carter on October 10, 1962 in the Manti Temple.

Jerry was a very special husband, father, brother and son. He farmed with his family until 1967, when he went to work for the Tooele Army Depot and retired from there in August of 1990. With a heart of gold that Jerry had, he touched the hearts of so many people around him, he never knew. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, son Brent, and daughter-in-law Tammy Carter of Stockton. He is also survived by his mother, Fern Carter, three sisters and one brother, JoAnn Muse, Carma (Edward) Hampton of Lehi, Carol (Dale) Knapp of Orem, and Kenneth (Toni) Carter of Lehi, and also many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Gerry Lynn Carter, and father Darrall Carter, and his brother-in-law Ivan Muse.

We want to thank all of the staff at LDS Hospital, Pioneer Valley Hospital, and Woodland Park Nursing & Convalescent Home. Thank you Michelle Hanks for all that you did for Gerry Lynn and Jerry Carter. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 So. Main St., Tooele.
