In his last years, Foncie, sometimes called Al, moved to Yorkshire with his family.
✞ Alphonsus Gerrard Mansfield is buried with his infant son Rory at Holmpatrick Graveyard in Skerries, Co. Dublin. With them is Foncie's cousin Katie McGowan. Buried next to him is the grave of his brothers Liam & Rory as well as the grave of his parents, sister Alice, brothers Cathal & Seán & his grandparents Capt. Thomas & Mary Anne (née King) Mansfield.
