Muriel M. "Mitzi" Hayes, 75, died peacefully Thurs. Jan. 3, 2013 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald I. Hayes Sr, her children and families, Donald & Lisa Hayes Jr, Jonathan Hayes, Kenneth & Terri Hayes, Karyl Lynne (Karrie) & Douglas Shay, her grandchildren, Valerie & Mike, Shawn, Shannon, Colin, Kyle, Joel, Sarah & Mat, Kenneth Jr, Justin, Amanda, Nicholas, 5 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Katelyn, Karley, Carmine & Eliana, her sisters, Gayle VanZandt, Donna Brew, brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Meg Rounds, sister-in-law, Beverly Rounds, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Robert & Kay Hayes and also several; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Henrietta & Everett Rounds, brothers, James & David Rounds, brother-in-laws, Floyd VanZandt & Harlan Brew and a nephew Thomas Hayes. She was a member of Windsor United Methodist Church, worked at the Fair Store, raised her children and worked for the State of NY Tax Dept. Mitzi operated the family business with her husband since 1976. She enjoyed baking, bowling, hunting, camp fires, cheering on her family at sports events, gambling and loved second to Dad, John Wayne.
