Ailcy Warden was apparently a well-loved and well-remembered part of her family. Descendants carried on the name Alcy/Ailcy/Ailsy for many generations. Some folks believe "Ailcy" was a nickname for Alice, although it could have been a name in its own right. Ailcy died sometime between 1850 and 1860. The Apr. 22, 1862 date of death often ascribed to her was actually the date of death of one Asa "Acey" Fleming, who was probably one of her grandsons.
