My Gran Pope was born in Lelant Cornwall, and later when she got married moved to Ludgvan Cornwall.
I never knew my Granny Pope, but my Dad tells me she was a fantastic lady, loved by all who knew her.She had 5 boys, one of whom died as a baby. My Dad was her eldest child. After her husband died she worked on the fields working hard to earn money to buy food for her children. She always wore black wellies which were almost as big as her :-) she was under 5ft tall and was of small build.

I have only just found out where my Granny Pope's grave is, my Dad never really speaks of his past and we never visited her grave. This year at my Uncle's funeral i decided to ask Dad about his Mum , i discovered where she was burried and with two of my brothers and my husband we visited her grave. It was a very special moment for me.
