Max graduated from Remsen (IA) St. Mary's High School in 1958 and from Creighton University in 1962, where he earned a commission in the US Army as a second lieutenant. He served in the Army for 22 years, retiring in 1984 as a major.
Survived by his wife, Daphne Ulveling; son, John E. (Donna) Uveling of Schertz, TX; daughters, Elizabeth (John) Tomao of Old Bridge, NJ, and Margaret (Joseph) Cellucci of Towson, MD; grandchildren, Addison Ulveling, Kenley Ulveling, and Luca Cellucci; and brother, Jack (Barbara) Ulveling of Atlantic, IA.
SERVICES Saturday, August 24, 10:30 am at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. The family will receive friends starting Friday at 6:00 pm in the St. Leo Church, with a wake service at 7:00 pm.
Inurnment at Baltimore National Cemetery in Maryland.
