Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Mr. Hicks was a native of Mexia, Texas, and had been a resident of Monroe for the past four years. He was division manager for Sears Roebuck Co., in Monroe and formerly manager of U. B. Carpenter's Store in Winnfield.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Barbara Ann Dees Hicks; one son, Scotty L. Hicks; one daughter, Kim Hicks, all of Monroe; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hicks of Winnfield; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Hicks of Cooper, Texas, and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover McClain of Cooper.
Pallbearers included James Hall Emerson, D. N. Smith, Breard Carpenter, Gene Waalk, Ron Hass, and David Ferguson.
