Claude S. Chandler Sr., 88, husband of Oneita Bagwell Chandler and a resident of Onancock, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005 at Shore Memorial Hospital, Nassawadox. Born in Onancock, Mr. Chandler was the son of the late Lorenzo and Edith Pitts Chandler. He was retired from the United Methodist Church of Lansdowne, Pa. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Onancock, where he was active as a Steward, Trustee, Men's Chorus, finance committee and past treasurer. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Mystic Lodge #4, Onancock. A funeral service was held at Macedonia A.M.E. Church, Accomac, on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Holliday officiated. Interment was in Star East Cemetery, Accomac. Other than his wife, Mr. Chandler is survived by a son, Claude Jr.; a sister, Madeline Henderson; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac
