FRASER, Nancy Cook— Age 62; a member of one of Tullahoma's early founding families, died Tuesday at her home, 211 Old Fort Street, after battling cancer for several months. She was the daughter of Mrs. Blanche Patterson Cook, Tullahoma, who survives and the late Sam L. Cook Sr. who served for 16 years as Superintendent of the Tullahoma Power and Water System. Mrs. Fraser was the granddaughter of the late Mrs. R.L. Dossett and step-daughter of Dr. R.L. Dossett, a long time area physician, and one of Tullahoma's early mayors. Mrs. Fraser had been active in Tullahoma community affairs for many years. She was married in 1947 to Frank Fraser, a career Air Force Officer who survives. Born in Tullahoma, she moved to Nashville at the age of 12 and graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended Ward-Belmont College and Peabody College. In 1954 she joined her husband in France when he was assigned to tours of duty there for three years. The Frasers returned to Tullahoma to live after his discharge in 1961 and have resided here since. Mrs. Fraser was active in girl scouting and was a member for several years of the Tullahoma Housing Authority. She also had been a leader in the Highland Rim Community Concerts Association and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was instrumental in organizing a Methodist Church in Port O'Conner, TX, while her husband was stationed there. She joined the staff of the A.E.D.C. Federal Credit Union in August of 1961 and worked there for several years before joining the staff of Shapard Chevrolet Co. Until this past year she was business manager for the Stan McNabb Automobile Dealership in Tullahoma. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Decem-ber 20th, at First United Methodist Church with The Rev Bill Starnes and The Rev A. Richard Smith officiating. Active pallbearers, Tommy Wiseman, Bobby Sanders, Joe Watson, Rudy Nuby, Tom Fra-ser, Jim Schwark, Troy Eason and Roy Crouch. Honorary pallbearers, Nat Washburn, Robert Ratclif, Alan Crouch, John McCord, Joe Buck Campbell and A.B. Neil. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Tulahoma with Daves Culbertson Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Fraser was preceded in death by a son, Spencer Fraser who died in April 1989 and a brother, Sam L. Cook Jr., who died in May of 1990. Survivors in addition to her hus-band and mother are a daughter, Nancy Fraser Price, Tullahoma; five grandchildren, Cindy Schwark and Melissa Schwark, Birmingham, Jennifer Schwark, Atlanta, Buffy Fraser and Heidi Fraser, both of Tullahoma.
