She was born on November 30, 1921 in Smith County to parents, Charlie S. and Letha L. (Knight) Smith. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie E. Nicholson; brothers, Charlie S. Smith, Jr., R.D. Smith and C.E. Smith; sisters, Bessie Estes, Mildred Smith, Elizabeth Adams and Reba Powell. She is survived by her son, Lonnie E. Nicholson; friend, Melodi Crain; brothers, Lawrence A. Smith, Gerald "Butch" Smith and Samuel Jessie "J.D." Smith; sisters, Bobbie Jean McPherson, Tillie Graham; honorary sister, Nancy S. Smith. Mary had one grandson, Lonnie E. Nicholson III and three great grandsons, Blake, Brent and Bradley Nicholson. Visitation for Mary Edith Nicholson will be at the Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 9 a.m. til service time 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Nicholson Cemetery, Henrietta, TN.
