Mr. E. Paul Deskins, age 86, of Rosedale, Virginia passed away Friday evening (October 15,1999) in the Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia.
Born on June 27, 1913 at Marvin, Virginia, he was a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Matney Deskins. He had resided in the Rosedale area for the past 36 years and was of the Baptist Faith. A retired coal miner, he was formerly employed by the Red Jacket Coal Company in Buchanan County and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gaston Deskins and Arthur Deskins and one sister, Chloe. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Virginia Keene Deskins of the home; two daughters, Betty Sue Justis of Grottoes, Virginia and Patricia Carol Ingrum of Chesapeake, Virginia; five brothers, Coy Deskins of Richlands, Virginia, Vernon Deskins of Kingsport, Tennessee, Estel Deskins of Florida, Andrew Deskins and Woodrow Deskins both of Ohio; five grandchildren, James Albert Huge Cole III, Anthony Dean Cole, Jennifer Deskins Keuls, Michelle Ingrum McAdams and Christopher Scott Ingrum; five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 am Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Anthony Dean Cole officiating. Entombment followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Relatives and friends served as pallbearers. Honaker Funeral Home of Honaker was in charge.
