Mrs Mary Spicer Brown died at the home of her daughter, Mrs M. S. Rogers, of Wellsville, Thursday, March 19, 1896. Mrs Brown was born in Plainfield, Otsego Co., NY, Dec. 17, 1813. She came to Allegany when she was seven years old, and has lived here since. She was married to Edmund Brown Jan. 15, 1835. The latter died july 25, 1885. She leaves nine Children: Geo. E. Brown of Andover; Iru Brown of Whitesville; A. J. Brown, E. J. Brown, Mrs H. P. Bloss, Mrs E. W. Bloss of Independence; Mrs M. S. Rogers, Mrs Hartley Parish of Wellsville, Charles E. Brown of South Dakota. Funeral services Saturday; burial at Independence. She was an invalid for many years and is now at rest.
