Christena R. Abel

WARREN - Mrs. Christena R. Abel, 77, 580 Fairfield Ave., N.E., died of a heart ailment at 5:25 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Riverside Hospital.

Mrs. Abel was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Kittanning, Pa., the daughter of Nicholas and Annie Galvin Futscher.

She was a member of Charity Baptist Church, Caring Buckeyes Seniors, SCOPE, Salvation Army Senior Citizens and a charter member of New Lease on Life. She had enjoyed crafts and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Abel, whom she married May 15, 1935; a son, Richard W. A. of Warren; five daughters, Mrs. William (Arlene) O'Shea of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Thomas (Connie) Jingo of Canton, Mrs. Howard L. (Carolee) Smith and Ms. Sandra Davis of Niles, Mrs. Bruce (Helen) Parker of Leavittsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Fries of Kittanning, Mrs. Anna Margaret King of Waynesville, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Donna Abel, died in 1967.

The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at McCardell-White Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
