Gordon Gray Armstrong, Jr. - Born on February 25, 1931 in Mobile, Alabama, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on September 20, 2013.
Gordon graduated from University Military School in 1949, and attended the University of Alabama before joining the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his service to his country, he returned to Mobile and worked for Armstrong and Associates, retiring as President and CEO.
He is predeceased by his parents Gordon Gray Armstrong, Sr. and Mildred Dowdle Armstrong, and a sister Helen Delores Arnold.
He is survived by his wife Claire Ellsworth Armstrong, four daughters, Robin Sigler (Pat), Julie Guarisco (Greg), Gray Pearl (Cam), Angie Millett (Tom), and a son, Gordon Gray Armstrong III (Simone). Grandchildren, Madeline Sigler, Colin Sigler, Andrew Guarisco, Megan Guarisco, Patrick Guarisco, Dr. Harrison Pearl, Cameron Pearl, Tucker Millett, Claire Millett, Ethan Millett, Chloe Mitchell, Gordon Gray Armstrong IV, Will Armstrong, Peyton Armstrong.
Visitation will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church in the Sarto Center on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 5pm - 7pm with a rosary at 7pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 12 noon, with a visitation at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 217 S Sage Avenue, Mobile, Al 36606, or your favorite charity .
