Shortsville Enterprise, Friday, April 5, 1974:
Helen H. Howe, 86 of 41 South Main Street, died Sunday, March 31 in Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic after a short illness. She was born in Manchester, December 28, 1887, daughter of Charles and Susan (sic) Herendeen Harrington. She was the widow of Harry Howe, who died in 1926. They were married in 1915 and lived in San Antonio for a short time. She was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church and was employed by the Papec Machine Company, Shortsville. She retired from there in 1963 after 45 years of service. She is survived by two cousins who live in Chicago. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 2, from the Halstead Funeral Home, with Reverend Donald Romlein pastor of the Manchester United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to the Shortsville Ambulance Fund or the Heart Fund.
