RIO — Julius M. Jameson, Jr., age 69 of Rio, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. 'Junior', was born on May 16, 1939, in Lodi, the fourth of five children to Julius Sr. and Gladys (nee Thompson) Jameson. He graduated from Rio High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to the former Jan Wescott on Sept. 1, 1962, at St. Joseph' s Catholic Church in Rio. Junior worked for People's Telephone Company from 1958 until 1963. He then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965, being stationed in Germany during that time. Following his military duty, he resumed his position at People's Telephone in 1965 and later retired in 2000 from Centurytel. Junior belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rio and also the Knights of Columbus, Rio Chapter. He was active in the Rio American Legion Post No. 208 and a member of the Columbus Country Club. Junior was a total Wisconsin sports fan, whether it be the Brewers, Packers, Badgers or Bucks. He closely followed them all. He loved participating in sports particularly golf, biking and walking. He was preceded in death by both his parents; his father-in-law, Don Wescott; his mother-in-law, Ruth Wescott; one sister, Shirley (Russell) Leistikow; one granddaughter, Cayli Jameson Bischoff; in-laws, Dick Lang, Barbara Jameson and Marilyn Warmke. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jan Jameson of Rio; one son; two daughters; two brothers; one sister; four grandchildren; four brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; an aunt; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial for Julius M. Jameson, Jr. will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at 11 a.m. at ST JOESPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Rio with the Rev. Raymond Dischler presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Rio with full military rites. VANGEN FUNERAL HOME in Rio.
