Despite his extensive hospital stays and a grim diagnosis (Juvenile Xanthogranuloma has no established treatment protocol), Tanner stayed positive. His compassion and zest for life brightened the lives of everyone who came in contact with him. Parents in the hospital would often ask Tanner to come visit their children because they were amazed at his strength and spirit. Tanner, of course, was always happy to oblige.
Some of Tanner's favorite activities were playing Wii and Nintendo, reading books before he went to bed, and swinging on his swingset in his backyard. His favorite cartoons were Spongebob (especially the episode "Jellyfish Jam") and Wallace & Gromit.
Tanner was survived by his loving parents, Wendy and Alexis; two brothers, KJ and Bodie; as well as uncles, grandparents and great-grandparents.
