Ralph B. Thompson, 69, of Monticello died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1994 at his home. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, with the Rev. Gary Crowe officiating. Burial was in the Monticello Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born Jan. 8, 1924, at Monticello, a son of William E. and Candice G. Rogers Thompson. He married Pat Neal on Sept. 11, 1951, at Bement. She survives. Also surviving are one brother, Harold Thompson of Cameron Park, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Thompson was a retired Monticello police officer and a former salesman for Piatt County FS. He was a member of the Bement Christian Church, past master and member of Monticello Masonic Lodge No. 58 AF&AM, the Bloomington Consistory, and the Illinois Police Association.
