Seneca – Margaret Reith Honea Sheriff, 91, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 23, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, William Claude Sheriff. She was born in South Union, the daughter of James Waymon and Effie Missouri Hix Honea.

She was retired from the J.P. Stevens Company. She was a devoted Christian to her Sunday School Class and to Bethel Baptist Church. She had served in various positions in her church over the years. She loved beautiful flowers and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by a son, Herschel Claude Sheriff (Shelby), Seneca; three daughters, Edith Sheriff Whitman (Joe, deceased), Alexis, NC; Sandra Sheriff Burkett (Virgil, deceased), Seneca; Deborah Elaine Sheriff, Seneca; one sister, Hazel Baker, Westminster; six grandchildren, Alex Sheriff (Kim), North Dakota; Kevin Sheriff (Rhonda), Westminster; Pamela Walker (Rich), Matthews, NC; Melinda Littlefield (Jim), Westminster; Neill and Brent Burkett, Seneca; nine great-grandchildren; Noah, Wyatt, and Zoe Sheriff; Zachary, Peyton, and Macy Walker; Will, Connor, and Mikayla Littlefield.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Glenn and Fant Honea; four sisters, Genevieve Child, Lela Honea, Newree Cole, Tressie Burns; and two great-granddaughters, Taylor Lanette Sheriff and Ali Marie Sheriff.

Funeral services will be at 3 o'clock, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church; visitation with the family preceding the service from 2-3 o'clock at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the residence. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 160 Bethel Church Road, Westminster, SC 29693, or to a charity of one's choice.

The family would especially like to thank the Hands of Mercy Hospice in Seneca for the wonderful care of our mother in the home and your kindness in assisting the family during our mother's journey.
