Mrs. Philip Bridegroom. After having been an invalid for over a year, Mrs. Philip Bridegroom passed away last Thursday morning at the home of her son John and family, in Franklin township. A complication of diseases caused death. Gertrude Halters was born in Germany on March 3, 1836, so was past eighty years of age. She came to this country when she was three years old and was married to Philip Bridegroom in 1854. He died sixteen years ago. The deceased lady is survived by four children-sons John and Charles, and daughters Mrs. Louisa Brown and Mrs. Mary Downing all of this county. There are thirty-one grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday forenoon, with services at the John Bridegroom home by Rev. W. E. Workings. Interment was given in the Winamac Cemetery.

Gertrude Halters Bridegroom was born in Germany on March 13, 1836, and died aged 80 years, at the home of her son north of Winamac. She came to this country with her mother and grandparents when she was three years of age. In 1854 she was united in marriage to Philip Bridegroom, who died 16 years ago. To this union there were born 9 children, four now living. She is survived by sons Charlie and John and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Downing and Mrs. Emanuel Brown, all of this county. She leaves 31 grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday forenoon at 10 o'clock at the home of her son John with interment at Winamac. Services were conducted by Wm. E. Workings.
