Chester – God's faithful servant, Frank Higginbotham, 80, died at 7:10 a.m. Friday morning, September 27, 2013, at the East Liverpool City Hospital Emergency Room. He was born in New Martinsville, WV, on February 21, 1933, a son of Albert "Bus" and Garnett Postlethwait Higginbotham. He graduated in 1951 from Magnolia High School and in 1953 from Florida Christian College. He was a faithful gospel preacher for over sixty years. His located works included the Columbia Street Church of Christ in Fairmont, WV, the Wellsburg Church of Christ, in Wellsburg, WV, the West Street Church of Christ in Weirton, WV and the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester, WV, where he had been located for the past fifty years. For over 40 years Frank hosted a local radio show on WOHI that he called "Bible Meditations." Surviving him at home is his wife, Rose Marie King Higginbotham, whom he married on June 7, 1954. Frank is also survived by a son: Steve Higginbotham, and his wife Kim, of Knoxville, TN; and a daughter: Janie Gallagher, and her husband, Brent, of Fairmont, WV. There are seven grandchildren, Ryan Gallagher (Kay), Amy Saunders (Chris), Jason Gallagher, Kelli Boitnott (Justin), Michael, Matthew and Anne Marie Higginbotham; and his four great-grandchildren, Ava, Noah and Sara Kate Gallagher, and Amelia Saunders. A sister Nita Faye Leach (Norman) lives in Moundsville, WV. A daughter, Donna Higginbotham, preceded her father in death in 1965. He was also preceded by two sisters, Joreen Nicola and Sonia Rine. Friends may visit at the funeral home today, Saturday, September 28th, where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Friends may also visit on Monday from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ. Services will be held at the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester, at 12 noon on Monday with Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Ave. Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Serenity Views Cemetery, in New Martinsville, WV.
