MARIE A. SCHERER
(1910 - 2002)
Marie A. Scherer, age 91, formerly of 1210 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, June 9, 2002, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Camillus Janas O.F.M. with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Aug. 24, 1910, in Newton, daughter of the late George and Mary Loritz Trost. On Nov. 11, 1939, she married Lloyd A. Scherer in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1970. Mrs. Scherer was a member of st. Anne's Society of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Donna Scherer, Green Bay; Richard and Loretta Scherer , Dennis and Mary Scherer, Kenneth and Sylvia Scherer, all of Manitowoc; Gregory and Wendy Scherer, Oconomowoc; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; Evelyn Trost, Manitowoc; and special family friends: Judy Berken, Green Bay; and Anna Mae Lieker, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Lieker, Mrs. Vilas (Cecile) Holbrook; and five brothers: Charles Trost, Norbert Trost, Leonard Trost, Melvin Trost and George Trost.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Father Cam.
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Shady Lane for the care Marie received.
