Jacob J. Schermetzler, 51, of 1214 S. 12th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at home.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Msgr. Alfred Schneider will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Graveside rites will be American Legion, Drews-Blesr Post No. 88.
Mr. Schermetzler was born Sept. 18, 1916, at Branch, son of the late Jacob Schermetzler and Mrs. Mary Nickolia Schermetzler. He was a veteran of World War II and married the former Marcella Schmidt June 22, 1940, at Clarks Mills. The couple settled at Manitowoc where Mr. Schermetzler was employed as a crane operator for Manitowoc Engineering Co. for 25 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the church.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Miss Beverly, of Manitowoc; two sons, Marvin, of Two Rivers and Wayne, of Manitowoc; his mother, Mrs. Mary Schermetzler, of Manitowoc; four brothers, Norbert of Branch, Leonard and Bernard, of Manitowoc and Donald, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc; five sisters, Mrs. John Schultz, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Victor Huber, of Kewaunee, Mrs. Fred Leick, of Whitelaw, Mrs. Norman Mayer, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Ed. Staudinger of Clarks Mills; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 o’clock this Monday evening by members of the Holy Name Society and the parish.
