William E. Comer Sr., age 72, of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, Oct 9, 1979 at the VA Hospital, Marion, Ind. Survivors: wife, Esther E.; one daughter, Mrs. Will (Beverly) Richards of Dyer; one son Sam (Janet) of Schererville; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; three brothers, Claude of Hammond, Lee of Merrillville, Paul of Medaryville, Ind. Preceded in death by two sons, William E. Jr in 1973 and Richard in 1976.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct 12, 10:30 a.m. from the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave, Hessville. Burial, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Thursday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Comer was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. A resident of the Calumet Area for over 30 years. A retired employee of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., where he worked as a diesel locomotive engineer.
