Silas Hancock obituary

Silas Hancock was born to Jefferson [James Jefferson] and Kathrine [Nancy Catherine]Hancock near Bald Knob at Alto Pass, Ill., died at Anna, Ill., April 19, 1935, aged 61 years.

He had lived practically all his life in this community and was highly respected citizen. His parents were among the pioneer Union county residents of this place. He was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Bloodworth. To this union five [six] children were born, two [three] sons and three daughters.

The funeral cortage came to the Alto Pass Baptist church where services were conducted by rev. Kenneth Hall and the remains were laid to rest in the Alto Pass cemetery beside his mother, who preceded him in death some time ago. He is survived by his wife, who has been totally blind for three years; two sons, three daughters, three brothers, and two sisters.
