HAMLIN, MARIE E. "BETTY" 86 - of Seaville, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 at her home. Born in Atlantic City, she was a lifetime area resident and an Upper Township, resident since 1982. She was a professional ice skater with the Ice Follies in the 1940's and served as Vice President of the Atlantic City Figure Skating Club. Mrs. Hamlin was an advocate for women's rights throughout her career and was a member for the Board of Directors for the American Lung Association of Southern New Jersey. Mrs. Hamlin was a Manager for the State of New Jersey Employment Offices for 34 years before her retirement in 1987. Surviving are three children, Barbara L. Brockett and her husband William of Marco Island, FL, Lyn M. Rowley and his wife Monica of Manalipan, James P. Chandler and his wife Vicki of West Grove, PA, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a caregiver, Larry Morrell. There will be a time for family to share on Friday at 11 o'clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from half past ten o'clock until the time of sharing. Interment will be private. The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to either the American Lung Association, 1031 Route 22 West Suite 203 Bridgewater, NJ 08807 or the Alzheimer's Association , 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
