DONALD G. SENGLAUB

Donald G. Senglaub, age 76, a resident of Rockford, Ill., died on Oct. 29, 2008.
Donald was born on Jan. 1, 1932, in Manitowoc, to the late Arthur and Lucile Vanzon Senglaub. After he graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Don enlisted with the United States Navy and served as a radio operator and obtained the rank of RM-2. After his honorable discharge in 1954, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Don was later employed by several finance firms and was assigned to locations in Wis., Iowa, and Ill. His last employment was as a manger of Radio Shack in Rockford, Ill. He was a Ham Radio operator during most of his adult life and as such counted many other Ham operators as friends.
Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law: Barbara Senglaub Rief and Clarence Rief, West Des Moines, Iowa; one aunt; Florence Montague, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Nancy Senglaub, Manitowoc; four nephews: Jeff Senglaub, Manitowoc; Dan Rief, Louisville, Colo.; Mike Rief, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Tom Rief, Scottsdale, Ariz., two nieces: Jill Senglaub Hall, Verona, N.J.; and Victoria Reif Dillenberg, Chandler, Ariz.; 18 grand nieces and nephews; also other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother: Robert Senglaub.
According to Don's wishes, cremation has taken place and his ashes will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Manitowoc following a private graveside service.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
