RAPIDS YOUTH DIES SUDDENLY AT GREEN BAY

The sudden death of Edward Schmitz, Manitowoc Rapids man who died at St. Vincent’s hospital at Green Bay yesterday afternoon, came as a great shock to friends and relatives. Mr. Schmitz, who was an employe at the Wiese Laboratory, has been suffering from cancer and on Wednesday was removed to the Green Bay hospital where he passed away at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon.

Relatives from here had intended to visit the decedent at Green Bay, leaving here on the afternoon train and upon their arrival found he had passed away.

Mr. Schmitz was born at Rapids October 7, 1900, and has made his home there during his life.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Zimmer, three brothers, John, Peter and William and two sisters, Clara and Adeline, all residing at home.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at nine o’clock from the home at Rapids to St. Paul’s Catholic Church and burial will be at Calvary cemetery, Rev. Jaeckels to officiate at the services.
