Lucy F. Shimek, 95, a Manitowoc resident, currently residing at ST. Mary Home, Manitowoc, died early Monday morning, November 30, 1987 at St. Mary Home.
Funeral services will be 9 am Thursday at St. Mary Home Chapel, Manitowoc. Rev. Tom Wojeichowski O.F.M. will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Lucy Frances Blazel was born March 5, 1892 at Kewaunee, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Ignatius and Angeline Brusky Blazel. She married Edward F. Shimek in 1917 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Green Bay. After marriage the couple resided at Kewaunee and then moved to Manitowoc where he preceded her in death in 1957. Mrs. Shimek then moved to Green Bay and has resided the past eight years at St. Mary Home. She was very active in the Ladies Society of St. Mary of the Angels Parish, Green Bay.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold and Mildred Shimek and Clarence Shimek of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Virge and George Kadow of Appleton and Mary Lou and Alton Sedlacek of Green Bay; a sister, Clara Schulkoski of Wheaton, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters and a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Shimek.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Fuenral Home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 8 pm Wednesday and at 8 am Thursday at St. Mary Home Chapel to the time of services. Prayer service 7 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home by Father Tom.
