DONALD C. SICKINGER
(1930 - 2010)

Donald Sickinger, age 80, of rural Manitowoc, died on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on March 13, 1930, in Manitowoc, son of the late Victor and Emma (Krueger) Sickinger. Donald was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1949. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. On Feb. 16, 1952, he married the former Marjorie Mailand in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1991. Donald was employed at Bahr Construction and retired from Lakeside Foods. He was a member of AmVets Post No. 99 and the Eagles Aerie No. 706. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and also gardening.

Survivors include six children: Kathy (Art) Cisneros, Manitowoc, Barb (Dave) Kleckner, Two Rivers, Donna (Steven) LeClair, Manitowoc, Jeanne Bolliger, Switzerland, George (Tammy) Sickinger, Kellnersville, Jennifer Sickinger, Boscobel; nine grandchildren: John Sickinger, Adam Cisneros, Steve Cisneros, William Thomas Jr., Jeanne L. Bolliger, Phillip Bolliger, Alex Cisneros, Adrian LeClair and Sandra Bolliger; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jeanette Brandes and Catherine Muhowski, both of Manitowoc; and his special companion: Peanuts.

He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Mary; a son-in-law: Ernst Bolliger; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Joseph and Lucille Mailand; a brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Elaine Sickinger; a sister: Bertha Ciske; two brothers-in-law: Matt Muhowski, Louis Brandes; two infant brothers and an infant sister.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Donald will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
