Mr. Xavier Sobiech, 77, of 1500 North 3rd Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday, May 25, 1986, at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Sobiech was born May 6, 1909 at Manitowoc, son of the late Xavier and Veronica Michalski Sobiech. Mr. Sobiech was a lifelong Manitowoc resident, retiring in 1971 and had been employed at various Manitowoc Construction Companies. He was a veteran of World War II serving overseas in Africa and Italy with the United States Army.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Stanley (Justine) Graczykowski of Manitowoc and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Clara Munroe, Catherine Blashka, Blanche Franz, Martha Sadkowski and Rose Blashka and five brothers, Edward, Mike, Anton, John and Ted.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 5 pm to 9 pm Tuesday evening where a prayer service will be 7 pm by Father Berryman.
