Mrs. Jerry C. Stangel, 72, of 1206 Philippen St., Manitowoc, died Saturday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Leschke-Bergner Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Rev. D. L. Krembs officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
She was born Catherine Donovan Nov. 17, 1890, in Kewaunee County, daughter of the late Peter and Bridget Terry Donovan. She was a graduate of Door County Normal School and taught several years in Kewaunee County before her marriage to Jerry C. Stangel Oct. 19, 1915,, at Kewaunee. She was a member of St. Theresa Society of St. Andrew Church and a one-time member of St. Andrew Dramatic Club.
Among survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Delores) Ploederl and Mrs. John P. (Kathleen) Clark of Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Henry P. Seidl of Luxemburg and Miss Ella Donovan of Milwaukee and 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7 o'clock this Monday evening.
