Mr. Walter A. Stanzel, 90, of 1432 North 6th Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, June 14, at his daughter’s residence in Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Pawelski with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Stanzel was born August 22, 1893, in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Mathilda Kerscher Stanzel. He married the former Elma Houghton on June 12, 1916, at St. Booniface Cathlic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death May 25, 1971. The couple had celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1966. Mr. Stanzel was a graduate of Oshkosh County Normal School and had been employed by Clipper City Transport Company a a claims agent.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Jeanette) Matthias of Sheboygan and M. Wilbert (Elaine) Stangel of Munising, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Anita Houghton of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss Emma Houghton and Mr. Walter Stanzel were united in wedlock Monday morning at St. Boniface church. Father Reindl of Kaukauna officiated. ??, sister of the bride was maid of honor and Misses Leila Houghton and Anita Rozinsky were the bridesmaids. Walter Houghton was best man and Frank Reindl of Waukesha, groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents on North Fourth Street, after which Mr. and Mrs. Stanzel left on a wedding trip to Chicago.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Houghton and has a large circle of friends. The groom is the son of Mrs. John Stanzel and is employed at the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanzel will make their home in this city at 1240 South Fourteenth Street.
