On November 8, 2005, KATHERINE COURTNEY "KATY" LONGHOFER of Houston, surrounded by her loving family, went peacefully home to be with her Heavenly Father. Katy was born November 27, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She loved her family and had a true servant's heart when it came to doi! ng things for them and for her friends. She loved animals, especially her dog Sofi, and enjoyed being in the country. Katy was preceded in death by her parents Warren Paul and Cleopha Helvie Courtney, and by her sister Ann. She is survived by her husband Don Longhofer; son Mark Kirchgessner and wife Leah; daughters Linda Hinze and husband David, Carol Malcomb and husband Doug, Lisa Johnson and husband Victor; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brother Warren Paul Courtney, Jr. and wife Shirley, as well as many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home-Champion Forest. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5201 Spring Cypress Road in Klein, with interment following at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
