Military funeral services for Lt. Dean Wilbur Krueger, 25, of Rt. 2, Reedsville,
who died March 26 in Southeast Asia while piloting an A-37 aircraft on a strike
mission, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The
Rev. Gervase J. Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Krueger was born Oct. 13, 1945, at Manitowoc, son of Wilber L. and Edith
Grace Goldie Krueger. He was graduated in 1963 from Valders High School and in
1967 from Wisconsin State University-Platteville with high honors. In May of 1968
he enlisted in the United States Air Force and took basic training at Lackland Air
Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He volunteered as an experimental subject in the
field of Aerospace Medicine in a 13 weeks program. He was a distinguished graduate
of Lackland on March 31, 1969. On April 11, 1970, he received his wings with honors
at Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Texas. He was commissioned a first lieutenant
Sept. 1, 1970, at England Air Force Base, Alexandria, La. He went to Vietnam
Jan. 18, 1971.
Mr. Krueger was a member of the Cato Future Farmers 4-H Club, the Valders FFA and
First Presybterian Church, Manitowoc.
(Survivors omitted for privacy.) A brother, Joseph, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday until 9:30 a.m.
Saturday and then at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The casket
will remain closed.
