John A. Swokowski, 60, of 2832 S. Hwy. 141, Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, Jan. 1, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Roy Crain will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Swokowski was born Feb. 5, 1920, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Sophie Mrotek Swokowski. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1939. He married Dolores Kelsey April 19, 1941, at Manitowoc. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a corporal in the United States Army, Company C, Tenth Infantry Regiment, serving overseas in the European Theater. He was employed as a repairman for Wisconsin Telephone Company Manitowoc.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jan and Annemarie Swokowski of Manitowoc, Jeffrey Swokowski of Framingham, Mass., and Jay G. Swokowski of LaCrosse, Wis.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Rob Radmer of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a brother, Earl Swokowski of West Allis, and four grandchildren, Warren, Susan, Samantha and Troy.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Friday afternoon and Saturday until the time of services. A prayer service will be held 8 o'clock this Friday evening.
