JOHN TEPOORTEN
(1854 - 1943)

John Tepoorten, 88, retired mason contractor, died at his home 2804 Meadow Lane on Wednesday afternoon. Death was attributed to a complication of diseases attendant upon old age.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. from the Pfeffer funeral home and at 10 o'clock from St. Paul's Catholic church with the Rev. Marin Jaeckels officiating. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Tepoorten was born Dec. 14, 1854 in Milwaukee and came to Manitowoc as a young man. He spent the rest of his life here. He followed the mason trade for many years and then retired about 30 years ago. He was married to Miss Susan Brown on Feb. 26, 1882 and she preceded him in death 12 years ago.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Charles Bartel, city, and Miss Susan at home; four sons, Fred and Joseph at home, George of this city, and John E. of Madison; two brothers, Joseph of Sheboygan and Matt of this city; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home to the time of the services and the rosary will be recited there at 7 o'clock this evening by the Holy Name society and the Christian Mothers society.
