The Tomes were killed in a two-car crash at the junction of County highways A and C in the Village of St. Nazianz shortly after 9 p.m….

Tome was pronounced dead at the scene of severe chest injuries and his wife died at 10:30 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, of head and chest injuries…

According to county police, Tome was eastbound on C when his car was struck broadside by the Weber vehicle traveling north on A. There was a stop sign on C for the Tome car and Weber would have had the right of way at the intersection, officer said. No skid marks from either car were discernible up to the point of impact….

William R. Tome was born April 19, 1894, at Brillion, son of the late William and Mary Hamernik Tome. He moved to Manitowoc when a young man and married Susan Reif in October, 1917, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He was a partner in the A&T Barbershop, Manitowoc, with Cyril Antonie. Mr. Tome was a member of Barbers Local 694 and Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 706.

Funeral Wednesday
Mrs. Tome, nee Susan Reif, was born May 26, 1898, at Reif Mills, daughter of the late Anton and Rose Reznichek Reif. She came to Manitowoc when a young girl. She was a Gold Star mother.

Surviving the couple are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Laverne) Blomgberg, of Beaver Dam and four grandchildren. Mr. Tome is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles Herman, of Manitowoc and a brother, Edward, of Two Rivers. Surviv-
