Maxine A. Tompkins, age 64, of 1323 South 14th St., Manitowoc, died early Monday morning, June 8, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Maxine was born in Two Rivers on Jan. 17, 1945, daughter of Katherine (Stephani) Meyer and the late Roland Meyer. She attended and graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1967. She was employed with Schmidtmans, the Herald Times Reporter and most recently Wal-Mart.
Maxine is survived by two daughters: Audra Turczynski and Jennifer Krueger; two sons: Brandon Tompkins, LeRoy Schneider, all of Manitowoc; father of her children: Dennis E. Tompkins, Brillion; five grandchildren: Chesslica Jean Tompkins, Rollie Tompkins, Jazlynn and Jaclynn Krueger, and Mariah Ploeckelman; her mother: Katherine Meyer, Manitowoc; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Daniel and Linda Meyer, Milwaukee, and Jon Meyer, Manitowoc; nieces and nephews: Melinda and Daniel Meyer, Jon Anthony Meyer; special friend: David James Segler, Manitowoc; other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by an infant grandson: Jillian J. Krueger; her maternal grandparents: John and Agnes Stephani; and her paternal grandparents: Edward and Martha Meyer.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th St., Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Keith Burnett with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until the time of the service at 1 p.m.
