L. W. (Louie) Trippler, 95, a Manitowoc resident, died Saturday evening, July 21, at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, where he had been residing for the past six years.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc. Rev. Bruce W. Hanstedt will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Trippler was born May 6, 1889, at Marinette, Wisconsin, son of the late Frederick and Theresa Steffke Trippler. He moved to Manitowoc with his family in 1904. He married the former Julia Koutnik in 1910. She preceded him in death in 1953. He then married the former Mrs. Mable Hanson in 1955 at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in 1980. Mr. Trippler was employed at Manitowoc Ship Yards as a pipe fitter and later as a boiler maker. In 1920 Mr. Trippler was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad, retiring in 1954. Mr. Trippler was a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706 and a member of First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Catherine Trippler of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Mel Parks of Sun City West, Arizona; a step-son, Earl Hanson of Middleton, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ervin (Ruth) Waskow of Two Rivers; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at First Lutheran Church Chapel after 1 p.m. Tuesday to the time of services. There will be no Monday evening visitation at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Home or First Lutheran Church.
