Carrie G. Brown was born in Elm
Creek township, near Marysville,
Kansas on February 13, 1878. Her
entire life was spent as a resident
of Marshall county, Kansas.
On December 25, 1898 she was
married to Lonnie A. Waxler at
her home near Vliets, Kansas.
To this union was born one
daughter, Alfa Irene, now nearly
two years old.
Two weeks before last Christmas
Mrs. Waxler was sticken with
bronchitis. On January 4, the
doctor made his first visit to see
her. She grew so much worse that
by February Mr. Waxler moved to
town so that his wife would be
given the best medical treatment
available. A consulation of doctor's
was held and it was their decision
that she was suffering from consum-
ption.
On last Friday, realizing that the
end was coming closer, she gave
her little daughter to her mother-
in-law Mrs. Maggie Waxler.
The end came on May 5, 1906 at
2:25 p.m.
Besides her husband and daughter
she leaves her aged parents Mr. and
Mrs. I.F. Brown of Vliets, Kansas;
four sisters, Mrs. M. Hazen and Mrs.
A. Mason, both live near Frankfort,
Kansas, Mrs. J. Grable, Vermillion,
Kansas and Mrs. Johnson, of Linn,
Kansas; two brothers, Ernest Brown,
Vliets, Kansas and Charles Brown,
Linn, Kansas, a sister and brother
have preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at the
Presbyterian Church with Dr.
F.O. Hellier officiating.
Burial was in the Willow Hill
Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
