Dorothy J. Wellhoefer, age 76, of 816 S. 24th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at her residence.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Service will be Deacon Robert Drobka with burial of the cremated remains at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
She was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Peter and Ann Fruzyna Vandenbusch. Dorothy was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1943. On July 10, 1948, she married Robert W. Wellhoefer at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death March 20, 1982. The couple owned and operated Wellhoefer's Sea Grill, a popular restaurant for over 30 years. Dorothy was a volunteer with the Capitol civic Centre, a member of the Junior Service League and a former member of Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-laws, Max and Becky Wellhoefer, Whitelaw, Robert and Bridget Wellhoefer, Minneapolis, Minn.; five grandchildren, Amy, Sara, Giselle, Tanner and Marcus and four great grandchildren, Hunter, Jessie, Jade and Jasmine. Also surviving are nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Memorials would be appreciated in Dorothy's name to The Capitol Civic Centre, Manitowoc.
Dorothy enjoyed camping at Devil's River Campground with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
