THEODORE F. WERGIN
(1886 - 1983)

Theodore (Ted) F. Wergin, 96, of 2202 Division St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning, Feb. 11, at his residence.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Harold Berryman and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Wergin was born Nov. 8, 1886, at West Kewaunee, son of the late John and Frances Sinicki Wergin. He married Matilda (Tillie) Mrotek, July 5, 1909, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death July 7, 1978. Mr. Wergin was self employed for many years as a painting contractor in the City of Manitowoc. He was a life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 706 of Manitowoc. He was presently director of United Savings and Loan Association of Manitowoc. Mr. Wergin was past president of Wisconsin council of painters and decorators of America. He was past president of Manitowoc Master Builders Association. Mr. Wergin was a former alderman for the City of Manitowoc in the former 7th ward.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Vergil Nelson of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Wiesner of Casco, Wis., and Mrs. Josephine Miller of Sebastian, Fla., and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
