Otto A. Wernecke, 69, of 9425 S. Olive Lane, Sun Lakes, Ariz., died Monday, July 11 at his home.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4419 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee. Cremation will have taken place.

A native of Manitowoc, Mr. Wernecke was the son of the late Dr. Otto and Caroline Kansier Wernecke. He was graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1931, and had been employed with Manitowoc Engineering company for 37 years, until his retirement in 1977. He was a past president of Machinists Union Local 516.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Hessel Wernecke, three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Rosalind Wernecke of Springfield, Ill., Thomas and Jeanine Wernecke of Appleton and Robert and Diane Wernecke of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Wallen of Windsor, Wis.; three sisters, Margaret Kott and Louise Wernecke of Manitowoc and Caroline Pharris of Milwaukee and 11 grandchildren. A brother, Henry, and a sister, Frieda, preceded him in death.
