Mrs. Veronica C. Whalen, 87, of 1433 N. 6th Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, December 11, at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Harold Berryman with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Whalen, nee Veronica Charlotte Perry, was born November 27, 1897, at Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Miller Perry. She married William Whalen in September of 1920 at Chicago, Illinois. The couple resided at Arlington Heights, Illinois, and her husband preceded her in death in December of 1966. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Whalen came to Manitowoc to reside in 1966.
Survivors include a son, Francis Whalen of Los Angeles, California; two daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen and Lester Mecca of Manitowoc and Veronica and Richard Martin of Terre Haute, Indiana; a sister, Mrs. Angela Thulis of Elkhart, Indiana; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. A prayer service will be held Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
