GEO. WIESNER DIES OF AUTO INJURIES
Deceased Succumbs Christmas Day to Injuries Suffered in City on December 6
Injuries which he suffered when run down at Quay and Eighth streets, Saturday, December 6, by a car driven it is said by Mrs. Ernst Blair, proved fatal on Christmas Day to George Wiesner, 71, well known carpenter contractor. He passed away at the family home 913 South Fifteenth Street, from pneumonia, which developed from internal injuries which he suffered.
Funeral services will be held from the St. Boniface church on Monday morning at nine o’clock.
Early Day Carpenter
The deceased was born in Cooperstown in 1859 and spent his early life in the county, erecting barns on various farms. He moved to the city forty years ago and was married in this city in 1885 to Mathilda Karlman. After removing to the city Mr. Wiesner entered the employ of the Burger Boat Company. For the past fourteen years he had been employed as a carpenter foreman at the plans of the Aluminum Goods Co.
Besides his widow the deceased is survived by three sons, Oscar J. of Manitowoc Rapids and Erwin and Walter of this city and two daughters, Mrs. John Leist and Mrs. Arthur Lackner, both of this city. Two brothers, Louis of Rapids and Joseph of Waukesha, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bleser of Four Corners and Mrs. Catherine Holsbach, of the town of Manitowoc and fourteen grandchildren also survive.
The deceased was a member of the Holy Name Society.
