Walter J. Wiesner, 86, of 424 S. 26th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 of Manitowoc.

Mr. Wiesner was born Feb. 9, 1893, in Manitowoc, son of the late George and Mathilda Karlman Wiesner. He married Josephine Krainik Aug. 25, 1925, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1975. Mr. Wiesner had been employed with Mirro Aluminum Company and later with Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. from which he retired in 1961. He had been a veteran serving in the United States Army during World War I, and was a member of American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Theresa Wiesner of Manitowoc and Willliam and Jean Wiesner of Sun Prairie; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Lloyd Arndt of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Leist and Mrs. Isabella Klackner of Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren and a great grandson. Two brothers, Ervin and Oscar, preceded him in death.

Friends may call in Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m.
