Stanley C. “Stub” Wilson, 63, of --- Meadow Lane, Manitowoc, a former Sheboygan resident, died unexpectedly Saturday at Vandermoss Nursing Home at Green Bay, where he had been a patient for some time.

He was born April 21, 1896 at St. Ignace, Michigan, the son of the late George and Ann Wilson. He was married to the former Louise Halden in Oshkosh on October 12, 1920. His wife preceded him in death in 1952. Prior to moving to Manitowoc in 1943, he operated the Ambassador Club (now known as Marty’s Flamingo) north of Sheboygan. In Manitowoc, he operated Lakeview Tavern from 1943 to 1954. During World War I he served in France, where he received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Sheboygan Elks Lodge 299, Manitowoc Eagles, National Association of the Rainbow Division Veterans and a charter member of the Manitowoc Seagulls.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Tuesday morning at the Leshke-Bergman Funeral Home in Manitowoc and at 9 o’clock at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Clement F. Kern will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery there. Friends may call at the funeral home from now until time of service. The rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock tonight.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joseph M. (Dorothy) Jageman of Manitowoc and Mrs. Clifton (Elinor) Champagne of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ernie Flintoff of Ontario, Calif. and Mrs. George Hayes of Indianapolis, Ind; two step-sisters, Mrs. Joseph Joynt, Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs. Clarence Kruz of Belmont, Mass.; one step-brother, Michael Maher of Wausau and 10 grandchildren.
